El Presidente

The Sabres officially clinched their first President's Trophy today by beating Washington. To celebrate, Missy and I went to Chili's for boneless Buffalo wings and Presidente margaritas. Ahh...

That's a pretty nice way to cap a regular season that has seen them now: tie an NHL record by starting 10-0, win the Northeast Division, win the Eastern Conference regular season title (while leading the East wire-to-wire), finish with the best record in the league, tie a franchise record for wins, lead the league in goals scored, lead the league with four 30-goal scorers and seven 20-goal scorers. Ryan Miller also set a team record for most wins by a goaltender in a season.

And of course, with the playoffs starting now, this list of achievements is a work in progress. Compared with the way last year's postseason ended, with everyone now healthy for the playoffs (welcome back, Tim Connolly), this postseason will hopefully be a lot of fun to watch.
